Hello!

I have been trying to figure out the code for the following type of data:

Bi-monthly, I export from quickbooks. There is not much I can do with how this is exported.

the data look like this:

col A: staff name - this is ONLY on the top row
Col b: (starts on the second row) hours worked in a specific class
Col C: class name

I want to sort by column C, but only for the specific staff. These change monthly, so the area also changes staff may leave, amount of classes etc so I can’t set up a sort by defined range because it changes.

currently - I select the area to sort, and sort by column c. I would love a short cut but i cant figure it out.

Let me know if I don’t make sense, and thanks!

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.

So, if I am understanding you, if we were able to align the data, the sort would work. Right? Please post a screen shot sample if I missed it.

Staff NameHoursClass
Some Name
8.5Algebra
7.5Gym
8.25Geometry

to this enabling you to sort by Staff Name, Class.

Staff NameHoursClass
