Sorting dates and times

I have a spreadsheet containing dates and times in the same column but they are out of order.

2/4/05 4:40
2/4/05 4:39
2/4/05 4:48
2/4/05 3:37
1/4/05 23:45
1/4/05 5:46
1/4/05 4:45
3/5/05 10:21
3/5/05 10:16
3/5/05 10:23
3/5/05 11:19
3/5/05 11:17
3/5/05 11:11

I want to sort them so that the dates and times are all in order however do not want to do it manually as the spreadhseet is 1300 lines long.

any suggestions?

Select your column with the date and time in it. Make sure it is formated to custom format m/d/yyyy h:mm
This should allow you to sort it just like you would any other column of data. I copied and pasted your example into my spreadsheet, hit sort, and got:
1/4/2005 4:45
1/4/2005 5:46
1/4/2005 23:45
2/4/2005 3:37
2/4/2005 4:39
2/4/2005 4:40
2/4/2005 4:48
3/5/2005 10:16
3/5/2005 10:21
3/5/2005 10:23
3/5/2005 11:11
3/5/2005 11:17
3/5/2005 11:19

I assumed this is what you wanted.

Just use Data/Sort in the usual way.
