I have a worksheet that has 6 columns that need to be sorted alphabetically the same time. As far as I know Excel’s Sort function only allows 3 columns at the time. How do I sort 6 columns the same time? Need help urgently. Thanks.

Not EXACTLY true...

You can sort as many columns as you like at the same time...
But only 3 Can be used as Sort Criteria...meaning
Sort By column A Ascending, THEN by Column B Descending, THEN by Column C Ascending...

That’s what I mean by sorting 6 columns by using them as the sort criteria for all 6 columns.
I have tried to sort them in steps, but the second sort will change the first sort’s order.
Any suggestion of how to write the code? Thanks.

  1. Select all of Columns A:F
  2. Go to Data>Sort> sort by D then by E then by F
  3. Click Sort
  4. Now again with Columns A:F selected
  5. Go to Data>Sort> sort by A then by B then by C
  6. Click Sort
