I am a rookie on filtering/sorting/arranging information in excel. I have downloaded this set of data points:
http://www.fas.usda.gov/export-sales/h1404.htm now what I need to do is the following
1. ensure the data in column A (the date) is UK format so that later on I can filter it appropriately.
2. sort the information into "marketing years" which run August1st to July31st (or 52 weeks / leap year 53).
3. Order the tables so it would read across a row: 1990 1991 and so on and columns would be week 1, week 2 and so on.
4. I have noticed that in the data set, sometimes at the end of a marketing year there will be two data points in the last week - so for example there is a data point for 07/29/1993 and 07/31/1993. this stuffed me a little bit on filtering as I was using data range (ie: 01/08-08/08) but this only then pulls in "one" data point for that data range not all.
Can someone help me out on how to use maybe an array function (??) to filter all this down into comparable data sets?
Thank you in advance, I feel completely lost!
