Sorting Problems

I made a template. after Putting in all the data Itried sorting one of the columns smallest to largest. I see in the background that it does the sorting but then it quickly scrambles all the data. WHY!

I bet you used RAND() somewhere or the values you are sorting are the output of formulas

The values are the output of formulas. Why is that a problem and how can I fix it?

Do you formulae contain a reference to the sheet they are on?

In that case try removing them.
Obviously leave sheet references to other sheets.

Remove the sheet references to the sheet with the formula
Ie if this formula is on Sheet1
=IF(Sheet1!A1="Yes",Sheet2!B1,Sheet3!B1)
It needs to become
=IF(A1="Yes",Sheet2!B1,Sheet3!B1)
