I would like to sort my worksheets based on an index sheet which has each sheet name in Col A in the order I woud like. How can I do this in VBA?

Thx

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
Try this macro out. You'll need to customize the macro a little to fit your workbook. Here's what you might need to change:

-my master worksheet is called "Sheet Names"
-their are no headers on the "Sheet Names" worksheet

Code:
Sub SortSheets()

    Dim NumSheets As Integer
    Sheets("Sheet Names").Activate
    NumSheets = Application.CountA(Range("A:A"))
    For i = 2 To NumSheets
        Sheets("Sheet Names").Activate
        Sheets(Range("A" & i).Value).Move After:=Sheets(Range("A" & i - 1).Value)
    Next i

End Sub

Thx hutchisd,

I didn't think it would be as simple as that but works a treat.
