Can somebody please tell me what would cause the following:

A sample path to my .xls file is
C:abc 123my file.xls

When I double click this file in windows explorer, the following happens:

1. It cannot find the file named "C:abc.xls"
2. then it cannot find the file named "123my.xls"
3. then it cannot find the file named "file.xls".

It seems to be stopping on each of the spaces, both in the filename and in the path.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you
Steve

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
Hi SteveC777:

Welcome to the Board!

How about trying with
C:abc 123[my file.xls] ... see if this helps.

Hi zacemmel and Yogi Anand.

Thanks Yogi Anand for your answer, but I wont get to be able to try it, because zacemmel's answer worked for me before I saw your post.

Thank you again

Hi Steve:

Let us just thank zaccemel -- he helped solve your problem -- and that is the main thing.
