Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
Type your text normally, then with the cell or cells where you want vertical text selected, run this macro:
Code:
Sub VerticalText()
Dim R As Range
Application.screenupdating = false
For Each R In Selection
    With R
        .HorizontalAlignment = xlGeneral
        .VerticalAlignment = xlTop
        .WrapText = False
        .Orientation = xlVertical
        .AddIndent = False
        .IndentLevel = 0
        .ShrinkToFit = False
        .ReadingOrder = xlContext
        .MergeCells = False
    End With
    R.Rows.AutoFit
Next R
Application.screenupdating = true
End Sub
