hello,

i'm trying to pull specific data from a column for a graph.

this column has cells that have dates in the in format dd/mm/yyyy, but also has cells with the word 'pending' in it. i want to make a chart that includes the cells with a date value (and will be pulling in corresponding data to each of those cells to create the graph) but want to exclude the cells that contain 'pending'.
however, once i change a 'pending' cell to include a date i want it to them automatically be included in the graph.

is this possible? can it be done with a specific formula in the select data box for the graph?

thanks in advance

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Personally I would make a helper column with a simple formula something like =IF(ISDATE(Xn),Xn,"") and then use that column for the graph. You can then set the column width to say 8, so it is nearly hidden (if you hide it then the graph can't use it).
