I would like to allow users to spell check a specific range on a protected sheet. However, when the sheet is protected spell check is deactivated on the tools menu. Any ideas?
Thank you.

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney

Hello

You could run something like this and attach it to a button on your sheet. This will unprotect the sheet, check the spelling and then protect the sheet again.
Code:
Sub SpellingTest()
Dim myRng As Range
Dim mySht As Worksheet

Set myRng = Sheets("Sheet1").Range("A1:A20")
Set mySht = Sheets("Sheet1")

mySht.Unprotect "Password"
myRng.CheckSpelling ("CUSTOM.DIC")
mySht.Protect "Password"
End Sub
Does this help?

Regards
