Is it possible to have a custom splash screen appear for 3 secs before the file is finally opened ?...

Though its explained here but this technique is not no neat cuz form title and close button are still visible...

please let me know how it can be done

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
You can grey out the close button using the technique described here. I do not believe you can hide it. There are more convoluted way of doing a splash screen but this is the best I think you are going to do unless you want to start calling external files.

You could use WordArt as a splash. With a little bit of know-how you can make WordArt actually look very professional and unique...plus you can animate it!
