For example: DD/MM/YY 08/12/83 this needs to be separated in 4 cells like: A1=08; B1=12; C1=8 and D1=3

Chandra

### Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.

For example: DD/MM/YY 08/12/83 this needs to be separated in 4 cells like: A1=08; B1=12; C1=8 and D1=3

Give this set of formula a try (note.. you did not tell us what cell the date is in, so I assumed cell E1)...

A1: =DAY(E1)

B1: =MONTH(E1)

C1: =MOD(YEAR(E1/10),10)

D1: =MOD(YEAR(E1),10)

Note that the values in cells A1 and B1 will not have leading zeroes... if you want them, simply custom format those cells using a type pattern of 00

Chandra,
Welcome to the forum.
For my example I put your date into cell A2. Then added these formulas in the cells you requested.
A1 =MONTH(A2)
B1 =DAY(A2)
C1 =MID(YEAR(A2),3,1)
D1 =RIGHT(YEAR(A2),1)

Hope this helps,
Tmoske

Thank you so much.

Regards,

Chandra
