I'm trying to use spreadsheet compare. Sometimes it works fine. Sometimes I have that error message about the file being password protected.

I'm usually trying to compare an autosaved file - when I'll open Excel 365, I get that box on the left 'do you want to save this'. I can't tell if the file I am opening is newer than the autosaved file. So I say yes and save the autosave.

Then open them in software compare and get this error.

Interetingly - I notice that if I swap the files with that swap icon, the error changes to the other file. Whichever file that is first of the 2, that's the one that will get the error.

The files open fine / no password on them. I've password protected the files then remove the password. Same issue. I copy the file and use the copy. And still get that error.

This has a dozen plus pages in the workbook.

any advice?

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney
