Spreadsheet Consolidation

Hello,

I have a bit of a complicated question but I know there is an easy solution I am just not sure of exactly what that is. I have a Master spreadsheet then I have multiple other spreadsheets that are duplicates of the master with the exception of 4 columns of information being added to the end of the document. My question is two fold.

1) I am getting upwards of 10-15 of these spreadsheets that need to be consolidated and placed into the master sheet. How can I consolidate the spreadsheets containing the 4 additional columns of information? If I do a Vlookup it erases the previous information with the new information.
2) Once I have the additional spreadsheets consolidated into one, what formula can I use to add the consolidated information into the master sheet? Again, I've found if I simply do a Vlookup it will erase the existing information. Currently I am having to do a Vlookup on a blank column then individually cut/paste into the appropriate column.

I believe I should be able to use a "IF" formula but I am not familiar with this type of formula.
