Looking to automate a spreadsheet that generates family meals for a fortnight at a time. I have one long list in a column of the dishes that we like and in the next column whether they are meat, fish, chicken or veg.

What I want to do is for the two weeks (Sunday to the Saturday) come up with a varied menu so that each week we have a balance of the meat, fish, chicken and veg dishes and with no repetitions.

Could someone let me know how best to do this please. I don't really have anything of value to post up so any suggested formats would be considered.

Thanks

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
Do a Google search for "free excel meal planner".

There are tons of examples.

Thanks guys. I have tried googling already but can't find what I am looking for.

I want excel to generate the day, the dish and type of dish for me so I don't have to make it up myself.
