Spreadsheet Size - best way to deal with it

Hi There,

Am redesigning a spreadsheet that currently has about 35 tabs. I can split relatively easily to take the central sheet down to 10 tabs and periodically open others to perform calculations.

Within the final 10 (which will be about 10-15meg total), there's one tab that could be dealt with separately again - it basically looks at all tabs (including those that will be split out), and needs to be open to perform some calculations from time to time. Just wanted a little guidance on the best way of structuring so that processing time keeps to a minimum (it involves 1000's of iterations, and would probably take a full day to run).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks - Paul

Based on your brief description of your workbook's spreadsheets, and the great complexity you mention, it seems to me that the first step should be a re-examination of the most-used formulas, to see how they can be reduced in size and/or complexity, including the extrction of all caclulated constants, so their calculation does not have to be done each time. Other ways of simplification and reduction of your formulas should decrease the complexity you mention. Perhaps even re-thinking the whole process may be in order...
