SQL to change text to date

I have a text field holding data in date but for some reasons the field must be set to text.
Now the cells are holding values like this

2008-07-03 10:33:40.262580000

but now sitting in the table as text.

I wish to create a table selecting this field but converting into date value field.
What is the SQL command ?
Something like Cln or similar ? I foregt. Pls help. Thanks

Try this:

DateValue(Left([txtDate],10))

where txtDate is the text field containing the date.
