Stacked Column Chart Question

Hi,

I'm trying to create a stacked column chart that displays the following data.

Options June July August
Text Only 360 400 450
Voice Only 740 630 670
Voice /Text 760 790 800
Total Customers 825 850 874

As you can see, the numbers (Text Only + Voice Only + Voice/Text) do not add up to the Total Customers #. Reason, well let's say that for the month of June, I only had 825 customers of which 360 only subscribed to the text only option, 740 only subscribed to the voice only option etc, so my chart goal is to show how the options (not total customers) segments are growing over time with a Total customers # on top of each bar. I've presented this data with a pie chart before (with the options representing slices) and the total associates # as the chart title, but decided to try to see if it could be done w/ a stacked column chart..

Thanks!!!!!

J

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
Not exactly sure what you are looking for, but here are a couple of solutions. Do either one show what you are trying to do?

Thanks for the response!!! I scrapped the other view since I believe that the clustered stack chart was not the best chart to convey what I was trying to present. that being said, I created the following chart (will change the 2nd axis to percentages) - any other suggestions to present the data?

Thanks!!

A couple of suggestions:

You show 2 Vertical Axis' and this will definately mislead the reader since one starts at 800 and one starts at 0

Right Click on the right Axis and Delete it and the lines should now align with the left axis.

Or move the line series back to the Primary Axis.

Also, most users/people love colors in charts, most dashboard designers like greys and blacks so that the colors are meant to draw attention to what is good or bad, not to just pretty it up :)
