So..um...under the start-up command, I did the bone head thing and unclicked all of the boxes in there to include the one that prevents you from using special keys to do things just to test things out and lo-and-behold...yep they all work wonderfully. Now...anyway to get back into my DB and work on it again or is it pretty much done now?

You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
If you have a shortcut to Access on you desktop, you can get in by double clicking the icon This will bring up a list of DB's. Whilst holding down the Up Arrow Key,click on the DB you want to open. This should bring up the database window.
