Hi, all. I searched and found a few similar to this quesion, but couldn't find the answer I needed. I hope I'm not re-posting!

I have a dataset, and want to run STDEV by category. (I have a column that contains cost categories, and another column that contains cost ratios.) How can I set up a table to give me STDEV of cost ratio by cost category?

Excel Facts

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.

1) A pivot table would be appropriate.

2) Control+shift+enter, not just enter:

=STDEV(IF(CategoryRange=Category,RatioRange))

Statisticians appear to prefer ATDEVP though.
