When you are calculating the StDev and you want to go x1.96.

This is how it is done, correct?

StDevSR: StDev(IIf([Sale_Price]>0,1,0))/Count([Offered No Dups].[VIN])*1.96

I am doing a calculation here to get a numeric value, so the question is to increase the StDev, doing *1.96 is correct, yes?

Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
StDev is your variable that holds the standard deviation calculation, and you want to multiply it by 1.96?
I only took one course on statistics, which doesn't make me an expert by a long shot, but I don't see the point of making it 1 if it's greater than 0 and dividing by the count of some table field (which you cannot access in this way) and multiplying it by some number. If you already have the value in your variable StDev and want to multiply it, what's with all the other stuff. I'm confused, perhaps because StDev is not the Access function name for standard deviation but you think it is. That might be significant.
BTW, what if the count of the field is null or zero? You'll get an error, perhaps #DIV by zero...

I would want to see some sample data to verify the correctness of the calculation. I also don't understand why dividing by count is being done so it's unclear what you are actually trying to formulate.

Note that it might also be useful to know why you are changing sales prices to 1 and 0 here.
However, to quickly check your answer with the multiplication by 1.96, just run the query without that multiplication and than run it again with it. The result should be that the second query result is the same as the first query result * 1.96.
