stop automatically changing (C) to copyright symbol

How do you do this?
I want to have (D) - (C) - (F) as column heading, but excel automatically changes (C) to the copyright symbol (a c in a circle) how can I stop this?

Excel Facts

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
Goto Tools>Autocorrect... and change the options there.

I think deselecting Replace Text as you type will work.
