How to calculate loan payments in Excel?
Use the PMT function: =PMT(5%/12,60,-25000) is for a $25,000 loan, 5% annual interest, 60 month loan.
Good afternoon tiguil

Sure is! Go to Tools > Options, Calculation and then open your workbook.

Thereafter, just press F9 to recalculate.

the workbook is set on manuel calcul. However, it still takes a lot of time to open it. What would cause the workbook to be so slow to open.

Hi tiguil

Could be a number of things.

How big is the file?
Is it a network file and is this newtwork known for being sluggish?
Are there any links to external workbooks in this file? Where are they linking to?
Is there a macro firing on the workbook opening that is slowing everything down?

You don't have to answer these questions, they are just a few of the many (more popular) reasons as to why a workbook may be opening slowly.
