This probably has some simple fix, but I haven't found it yet...

How do I use the Stacked Column chart and stop Excel from adding the values together?

Here's an example of the data...

Book1
KLMN
4DSMQ3YTDFY F'cast
5Cohara026
6Fisher456
7Jay11
8Verkem035
9Wiley225
10Others048
Biz Review Graphs

So when I generate a chart using the stacked column option, I want the Cohara line to have zero for Q3, show 2 for YTD, and 6 for FY F'cast. What I get is 0 for Q3 (as you'd expect), 2 for YTD, and 8 for FY F'cast. It's adding the values to come up with the total height of the column, but I don't want that.

Same for the Fisher column. That one gives me a column height 15 tall, but I don't want that. I want it 6 tall based on the values in the N column.

So how do I stop Excel from adding these values and just stack them as they are?

Hope all this makes sense - thanks to anyone who can provide ideas!

Copy PDF to Excel
Select data in PDF. Paste to Microsoft Word. Copy from Word and paste to Excel.
If you don't add them, it's not actually a stacked column. You could either use a clustered column chart instead, or add a couple of columns to calculate the differences between each column and the running total so that you can plot that as a stacked column.

Thanks Rory! Didn't think about your point of it no longer being a stacked column - doh!

Clustered columns are busier looking than I'd like, but maybe my only option

Playing with some of the 3D options but nothing ideal jumps up there either - arrrgh!
