String search using first few characters and pasting in other sheet

Hi Experts,

I am beginer of the excel and have got very tough task in the start. I have a worksheet having various sheets in that. Each sheet has got some strings starting with charcaters IQ_ (e.g. IQ_TOM, IQ_JERRY etc.)

I want to find all the complete strings starting with IQ_ in all the sheets and paste the string in a another single sheet. There are some strings not explicitly mentioned in the cells, rather used in the formula in the cells.

Thanks in advance for suggesting the solution for the same.

You could use AdvancedFilter's copy to other location feature, with a wildcard in the criteria "ID_*"

I tried using Advanced Filter but I am getting error "Reference is not valid". Can you please suggest further?

I don't know what version you are using, but Excel 2011 has a "begins with" option.
