Hello all,

A student has a pc purchased in Spain, so naturally eveything is in Spanish and currency is periods and commas instead of commas and decimal points. Is there a place where I can change the OS language to English? Will the Tools, Options, International tab help? Thanks in advance for any ideas and/or suggestions!

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
Hello,

Try going into the Control Panel
and click on Regional and Language Options
Then on the regional tab [1st tab]
Then select English(Australia) or united kingdom or USa from the drop down list could be :ingles

That will change the settings for the , and decimal point;

That will only change this settings.

I had a French Version of Windows, but there was no way to converted to an english version, unfortunatly.[no way I am aware of]

For Excel I use Office 2000,

Change the language for the user interface of Office programs
Obtain the Microsoft Office 2000 MultiLanguage Pack and install it.

On the Windows Start menu, point to Programs, point to Office Tools, and then click Microsoft Office Language Settings.

On the User Interface tab, click the language you want in the Display menus and dialog boxes in list.
Notes

If you change the language of the user interface, but don't change the language for Help to match, the terms for menus and dialog boxes used in Help won't match the ones you see in the program. For tables of translated menus and commands, see the Microsoft Office 2000 Resource Kit. Learn about obtaining the Office Resource Kit.

Some components of Office do not support switching the language of the user interface or Help. For more information, see the Microsoft Office 2000 Resource Kit.
