Stupid Question-Hitting Return

Hi all,
I need to enter a lot of text into several cells of an excel spreadsheet and would like to format the text (i.e., numbers or bullet points). I can't figure out how to skip a line while entering text into a cell. I don't want to go to the next cell, just to the next line.

What am I missing?
