Stupid Scroll Bar !

I've just dropped a scroll bar into a spreadsheet because I find it easier to use than a combo box.

When I click on the left or right hand arrow it selects a name from the list BUT then continues to flick quickly through to the end or beginning of the list.

Is there a way round this or is this just how scroll bars work!?
