Hi All,

I have on one work sheet traffic lights (from a drop down list you can choose either green, amber or red) - when you do the background for that cell becomes red, green or amber.

How can I reference this cell from another worksheet, and have the color change on the new worksheet - I have tried just linking it over but it doesnt work.

If the cell I want to reference is (a4) in worksheet Projects.

Any help
Thank you
Tim

Select data in PDF. Paste to Microsoft Word. Copy from Word and paste to Excel.
If using condtional formatting, you can't reference the cell directly--however you can get around this if you name the cell.

So make cell A4 on the original worksheet a named range. For example, name it "Lights."

On the other sheet, you can make your conditional formatting criteria look at the value of Lights to change the colors.

Your criteria on the second sheet would be

Formula is: | Lights="Red" to color the cell red, and so on.
