Subform to main form issue

I have a database with the main form titled "Orders" and a subform titled "Orders Subform". They are related through the OrderID on both forms. However, every time I add a new record to the subform it creates a new main form. I don't need 10 duplicate orders because someone ordered 10 items. This is driving me batty! If anyone has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds as if your Parent and Child relationships (when inking the forms) are backwards. How do you have your forms linked?

Child Field: [Orders subform].OrderID
Master Field: Orders.OrderID
If I switch them around it doesn't recognize the [Orders subform].OrderID
