substitute() more that one text

I have phone number A1=111-222-3333, I want to replace "-" with nothing "", to get A1=1112223333 , so I thought substitute() will do the job if I write it like the following:

=substitute(a1,"-","",2)

I thought 2 means to delete both "-" in the text but it appears no, it will delete the second one.

I know I can use Find&Select-->Replace All, but I want to know if I can do it using substitute() function.

The 2 means substitute only the 2nd instance from left to right

Try
=SUBSTITUTE(A1,"-","")
