subtotal not working with custom views - trying again

I have a worksheet that subtotals different items (wages, benefits, etc.) by department. Each custom view is a particular department (filter). My print routine uses the custom views to create a report that prints pages for each department with the department subtotals. My problem is that the subtotal is always one department behind. For instance, when the Department 2 sheet shows up on the screen or prints out, the individual employee's numbers are correct, but the subtotal at the bottom is for Department 1. When Dept 3 prints out, it has Dept. 2 subtotals, etc. The timing is obviously off -- how do I fix it??
