I have just installed office xp professional on my computer. I am trying to work with a workbook that I have had no problems with while running office 2000 on windows 98. I
am trying to use subtotals, and when I apply the subtotal function my spreadsheet disappears.
Anyone else have this problem and know of a fix/patch/workaround?

Thank you in advance for your ideas.

Excel Facts

Copy PDF to Excel
Select data in PDF. Paste to Microsoft Word. Copy from Word and paste to Excel.
I use Office XP on Windows 2000 and have not experienced anything like that.

Is it only with subtotals? What about changing some to the other functions (average, etc.). Does it still happen?

What about other menu items, i.e. Group and Outline?

I tried using Window NT and I come up with the same problem. Actualy sometimes when I do Text to Column I come up accross a very strange erros cna't even explain. what strange is that it doesn't happen all the time but it does happen for sure. You can even check other group discussions and you'll notice people have the same problems.
Too bad I can't attache file so you could try it.

I actully was able to figure out the problem. o_O All you have to do is to make sure that your spreadsheet is set to automatic calculations. If it is manual it will give you an erro when you do text to column or when you try subtotal
