# subtotals

##### Board Regular
Sort by car only, and use the subtotals to show total fees paid to employees for each car.

I am confused. Am I just supposed to show the cars only and teh subtotals for each car? And leave out the color and the year?

### Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},\$Z\$1:\$Z\$99,\$Y\$1:\$Y\$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.

Hi blondiechick:

It will be better to clarify what you are trying to accomplish with a few rows of your data and your expected result.

The fields are as followed:

A3=Employee

C3=Color
D3=Year
E3=Subtotal
