Hello,
I have my daily collection and exp. in a excel file.
I have 12 Sheets in a workbook, named 12 months of a year.
and each sheet have 31 rows according dates of this month.
and each sheet have 5 coloumns 'Date' 'Particulars' 'Dr' 'Cr' 'Balance'

When I want to add a new entry on current date or want to modify
an earlier date. I must spent more time to search exact row and column.

So I think for create a link on each sheet 'Go To Today' ; but I have no idea
for do that.

Can you help me?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, Welcome.

1) I recommend for dates, even if you want them to appear as only a month or day value, to use full dates.

2) Then a FIND will work: Control + F, enter the date to be found, and Excel will take you right there (assuming you don't have dates all over the place in other ways).

---------------------

Regarding #1 above, use formatting (Control + 1) so that the date displays how you like, but (internally) is stored as the full date.

But really, it shouldn't be hard to find the date...click the tab for the month, then there's only 31 days to choose from? Almost any other action would take as long too.

---------------------

Or if you can, best of all to keep the data all on one sheet. Its always easier to work with data in a discrete dataset or grid, rather than on multiple tabs. Separate the data entry and data collection from reporting the data whenever possible - the former optimized for effective processing and storage, and the latter for appearance and the end users needs.

As an example:

The following cells all contain the same Date 01-JAN-2009
book1
ABCD
1DateCustomFormat
231-01-2009dd-mm-yyyy
3January31,2009mmmmd,yyyy
431d
5Satddd
631-01dd-mm
701-31mm-dd
81m
901mm
10Janmmm
11Januarymmmm
