Sum a column for month & year ranges - answer on separate sheet

Hi - this should be simple - but I must be missing something!; -

V. large data base over many years - I have a Col "K" which is coded =DATE(YEAR(A4),MONTH(A4),DAY(A4)) - please, I do not wish to change this.

On a separate sheet I wish to display the numeric sum of data within another Column of the database for each month of each year - such that the sheet would appear (e.g.) as follows: -

Oct '13 = 24
Nov '13 = 10
Dec '13 = -8
Jan '14 = 42
Feb '14 = -17
Mar '14 = 0
etc, etc.

All my attempts to achieve this have failed... please help, thank you.

Matter not clear, why date has same value of year, month and day?
Another sheet data also not clear, can you put few date of both the sheets?

This site is not letting me post attachments so I cannot send you an example: -
"why date has same value of year, month and day" the values are NOT the same - the equation I gave is the function formula embedded in the column.
