SUM - disregard #N/A Values

I searched the database, but was not able to find any previous dealings with this problem. Nor have I been able to find a solution through my Excel book.
The problem I am having is when I sum up a row of numbers, where some are #N/A values the total sum is #N/A.
One solution would have been to "get rid" of the N/A's in the source sheet, but this option is not open to me for various reasons.
Is there a way I can get SUM to disregard the #N/A values and simply sum up the cells that do have numbers in them?
Thanks
R

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
