sum if equal

hi!
i need a clever way to check if some the text/values in column a is equal then sum the amount/numbers in the next colmun,
like a1:a8 is equal so i want to sum b1:b8 in c1,
and a9 have no equal sum b9 in c9,
and a10:a12 are equal so sum b10:b12 in c10
and so on....
can anyone please help?
