Sum If Two Conditions Are Met

I am trying to count the number of times two conditions are met.

=SUMPRODUCT((E1:E30="DOG")*(F1:F30="LOW"))

Formula is in A3. E13 is returning 0 and F13 is returning a value error. both of these can/will occur in my spreadsheet. If I remove row 13 the formula will work, but I need for it to work with it.

Ideally, you need to fix the #VALUE! error at the source with an error handler such as:

Excel 2003 and older:
=IF(ISERROR(*your formula*),"",*your formula*)

Excel 2007 or newer:
=IFERROR(*your formula*,"")

That way any future calculations you need to perform on this data won't require putting a band-aid over the #VALUE! errors.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Try one of these.

• A1 = dog
• A2 = low

This array formula** will work in any version of Excel:

=SUM(IF(E1:E30=A1,IF(F1:F30=A2,1)))

** array formulas need to be entered using the key combination of CTRL,SHIFT,ENTER (not just ENTER). Hold down both the CTRL key and the SHIFT key then hit ENTER.

This normally entered formula will work in Excel versions 2007 and later.

=COUNTIFS(E1:E30,A1,F1:F30,A2)
