Sum nonadjacente cells but ignore zero value

Excel Facts

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
Your request seems simple enough but can we see an example

=D3+F3+H3+J3+L3+C7+E7+G7+I7+K7
at any given time some of the cells have value and some don't but I am getting " #VALUE1 " instead of a value

I should note that those cells do have formulas in them

I think the best thing would be to have IFERROR functions around the formulas in those cells

e.g if the formula in D3 =C2/D2, you can use IFERROR(C2/D2,0) or IFERROR(C2/D2,"") that way, an error would default to zero, so that your sum is unaffected

cos to start writing IFERROR(D3,0)+IFERROR(F3,0)+IFERROR(I3,0) doesn't look so cool, but would work

Thank you for your time, I actually fixed it by changing the formula in the other cell to return a zero value instead of a blank value
