# Sum question

#### Rufus 2006

##### Board Regular
I have a formula,=SUM(L60*L61,M60*M61,N60*N61,O60*O61,P60*P61,Q60*Q61), that returns a "0" when P60*P61,Q60*Q61 are blank. However, if I don't include Q60*Q61 in the formula it works just fine if P60*P61 are blank. I can't figure out what the heck I am doing wrong. Can anybody help me out?

thats because you need to use
=sumproduct(l60:l61,m60:m61,o6061,p6061)

Thanks for the response. It still returns "0" however. I used the formula builder from the toolbox.

=SUMPRODUCT(L60:P60,L61:P61)
coppy and paste this into your cell, then push ctrl +enter

I still can't get it. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.

are you sure that these are the correct ranges?

Yes. In my original post I copy and pasted them directly from my spread sheet. Seems like in the IF statement, I can get the right if I don't the last "Q60*Q61" and leave "P60*P61" blank it works ok. As soon as I include "Q60*Q61" in the formula and leave it blank it returns "0".

Thank you very much for your patience with me and trying to help.

can you type the data in each cell on here? because I used sumproduct and if its blank or if it has numbers it works

I just saw this and Am trying to fix it. I think I have a circular reference in one of my other formulas. Would that affect the outcome somehow?
