Hi,
I am trying to do a sum calculation but fell at the first fence.

Please can you advise how i can achieve the following.

I would enter a value in cell K5
In cell E14 is where the calculation / answer will be placed.

Example
I enter 123 in cell K5 & the calculation in cell E14 is =SUM(K5)-65 I then expect to see 58 in cell E14 but i keep seeing -65 in cell A14
Please advise what ive done wrong & how to do it correctly

Thanks

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
ur itereating over the same cell.
from what I'm getting:
K5 - cell with manual input, 123 in this example
E14 you wish to subtract 65 from value in K5. and get the correct amount of 58

So in E14 forget the sum function and do basic subtraction
Excel Formula:
=K5-65

The reason why i see -65 is the calculation is doing what its supposed to do so it will be -65

Working on this.
Thanks for the help

then I dont understand.

123 minus 58 is 65
the one and only way it would be -65 would be if
-123 + 58 - so its a reverse of what ur doing.
