I have 8 years of inventory sales data and i want to have this date in a list and have specific information calculated ie how many sold in that year, in that model, that color, that manufacture ect. i have been searching for a week and so far everything i have tried won't work. "=sum((market="usa")*(Customer="Excel")) seems like the type of function i am looking for but when i enter this example i get an invalid name error. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. There are 8700 rows and 11 columns. I need to calculate about 6 of those columns into date using what i believe to be a sum function.

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
Good evening certs

From what you have said, you certainly require the SumProduct function - but if you want someone to write a function for you, you'll have to provide a lot more info about what's in what columns and what sort of criteria you want.

However, if you want to have a go at writing the formulae yourself, you may well benefit from my add-in (via the link below). This has a routine that will help you write that sort of formulae (Ultimate > Formulae > Multile SumIf Generator).
