Hi,

I am trying to sum data where the date falls within a specific month in a year. Please see how my excel is structured:

Please help!

Also, it would be most helpful if you could post your sample data that you posted in your first post using the "XL2BB" tool, which would allow us to copy and paste it to an Excel sheet on our side, so we can try setting up your exact scenario.

MrExcel has a tool called “XL2BB” that lets you post samples of your data that will allow us to copy/paste it to our Excel spreadsheets, so we can work with the same copy of data that you are. Instructions on using this tool can be found here: XL2BB Add-in

Note that there is also a "Test Here” forum on this board. This is a place where you can test using this tool (or any other posting techniques that you want to test) before trying to use those tools in your actual posts.

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
Hi Joe,

This is the formua =SUMIFS($L$4:$W$4,J4,">="&DATE(YEAR(A3),MONTH(A3),1),J4,"<="&EOMONTH(A3,0)) and below is a sample of what my data looks like.

We cannot do anything with that.
That is just an image, not a workable copy of the file from us.
Also, there are no column and row headers, so we cannot see what cells this data is in.

Thanks for your help, Joe. Unfortunately, I cannot upload a mini-sheet because I cannot install ZLB on my work laptop.

Can you upload the file to a file sharing site and provide the link?
Nothing you have posted is showing us what cell addresses these are going in to.
It is hard to adjust the formulas if we do not know where the data is!

Your file looks very different than the original problem you posted.
In the original problem, you have just one "Date" column and one "Amount" column.
On the file attached, you have a Start Date and End Date, that span many months.
You then have multiple columns for amounts.

I don't understand how that data is supposed to be interpretted.
Can you walk us through January, what the expected value to show should be, and explain exactly how to arrive at that number?
