Is there any way to use the sum ifhorizontally instead of vertically. Or does this need to be done a different way?

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
You can use it horizontally. I set up two rows of cells; the top one with random letters in it, some of which were q. Then below that I put random numbers. In another cell I put

=SUMIF(F1:F9,"=q",F2:M2)

It gives the correct answer.

Is this what you mean?

No thats still vertical

I mean, so C1 is column 1 , i need to sum sumiif all the values in row A so the answer would be 3 and for B it would be 7.

C1 C2 C3
A 1 2
B 3 4

Try to post some actual data, actual conditions which must apply, and the outcome for the posted data.
