SUMIF based on range of DATE

I used these formula to sum by months, but I realized that not all dates are on the first day of the month, there for it did not work.
Can some one help me by providing a formula that sums on the base of range date or rather month.

You could try:

=SUMIF(E2:E1430,"<=8/31/06",F2:F1430)-SUMIF(E2:E1430,"<8/1/06",F2:F1430)

or:

=SUMPRODUCT(--(MONTH(E2:E1430)=8),F2:F1430)

EG for August:

=SUMIF(E2:E1430,">=8/1/06",F2:F1430)-SUMIF(E2:E1430,">=9/1/06",F2:F1430)

On the other sheet I have instead of whole date there is just 01, 02, 03 etc. I am trying to put that in the second formula you provided, but I am doing it worng, can you please correct my formaul.
=SUMPRODUCT(--(F9:F4832=8),G9:G4832)

=SUMIF(F9:F4832,"=08",G9:G4832)
