Hi

I hope you Excel masters can help me, it may be a simple thing i have forgotten

I have a sheet (called full works) with a project column (column B) and a total column (column H). I would like to add column H if a certain field is in column B

the below formula works when it is the same sheet,

=SUMIF(!B2:B200!,"*"&B4&"*",!H2:H200!)

but as the main table will be long I want to create a 'totals' page

so i have entered SUMIF('Full works'!B2:B200!,"*"&B4&"*",'Full works'!H2:H200!)

but this doesnt seem to work.

Please help.

Regards

Matthew

Excel Facts

Wildcard in VLOOKUP
Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
You need to remove the ! from the end of each range, it should be like 'Full works'!B2:B200
