I have two spreadsheets:
1. Pricing_detail.xlsx
2. Profit_Analysis.xlsx

All computations are done in Pricing_detail.xlsx.
In the Profit_Analysis.xlsx, there are several fomulas using the sumif function.
Everything is good and formula works only if both worksheets are open at the time.
When I open the Profit_Anlysis.xlsx by itself and don't open the Pricing_detail, the results of the sumif formula turns into "Value".
Is that how sumif works?

Thank you so much.

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December

Yes, it is the way it is designed to work. That is, SumIf works only with range objects, not with array (or vector) objects. Care to post the formula, so we can suggest a conversion?
