Sumif I have no clue

SO thats my data, I would like another cell to count if c8:c5000=FN and if d7=(cell location) then add number is d8:5000

does that makes sense, why can't i figure this out?

i've tried sumif and sum(if

but i give up

For test purposes say you restrict the data to what is shown in your post above.

What result(s) do you want to get in which cell?

I see 2 "FN"s in column C, with 4s for both in column D so that would be a result of 8 using

=SUMIF(C8:C22,"FN",D8:D22)

is that what you're looking for - where does the date come in?

You are correct the answer would be 8, I'm not sure how important the date is, I would like it to check the date also to make sure it matches the date being used on another sheet....

Also i'm not sure why i'm not getting the same answer as you, is it because I am drawing this data from a pivot table?

Hmmm,

I posted all the data on another sheet and it worked like you said, so i must assume its because i'm trying the sumif on a pivot table/access file

when i do it on the pivot table i get 0, when i make a new worksheet i got 8 also
