SUMIF LEFT FORMULA

=SUMIF(LEFT(A5)="4",L3:L18)
Please correct this formula
I am trying to add column L, if the corresponding cell in column A has account number that starts with "5"

Try

=SUMPRODUCT((LEFT(A3:A18)="5")+0,L3:L18)

Can also use

=SUMIF(A3:A18,C1&"*",B3:B18)

Where C1 holds 4

A *big* caveat regards the above: Assumes that your Account Numbers are formatted as Text, not General / Numeric.

Will fail if not.
